Today marks the third anniversary of your commemoration.

The Anti-Japanese Military and Political University has been running for three years, and our war of resistance is approaching its second year. The University is anti-Japanese; its purpose is to overthrow Japanese imperialism and thoroughly liberate the Chinese nation. Over the past three years, the University has trained many staunch anti-Japanese cadres, who have gone to the front lines and to the enemy's rear to strike at the enemy and annihilate them... Today, there are still many Wang Jingwei faction elements within our country—capitulationists, the surrender clique. They do not support resisting to the end; they advocate negotiating peace with Japanese imperialism and favor compromise and surrender. What must we do? We must oppose surrender. "Resist to the end" remains the call issued by Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek and is supported by the entire nation. "Oppose surrender, resist to the end"—we of the University unanimously uphold this. Not a single person in our University can fail to resist to the end, not one can fail to oppose surrender, not one can endorse peace and compromise. If there is such a person, they are not truly of the University. Not one person is permitted to advocate peace; we must all, as one, resist to the end! This is the fundamental stance of the University. It was so in the past three years, and it will remain so in the next three years and for many years thereafter. "Oppose surrender, resist to the end"—this is the guiding principle of the University.
