Inscription for Miao Min[1]

(Spring 1939)

No difficulty can obstruct the advance of a person; so long as one struggles and persists, the difficulty will be driven away.

Mao Zedong

[1] This is an inscription written by Mao Zedong for Miao Min (original name Li Zhenxiang), the wife of the martyr Fang Zhimin. In the spring of 1939, Miao Min was studying at the Women's Training Class of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Upon completing her studies, she won an award in a political examination, and Mao Zedong wrote this inscription on her prize.
