Speech at the Meeting of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China[1]

(March 29, 1939)

Lu Yi has trained a batch of cadres in the past and established the foundation of the school. Although the leaders have worked hard, the work has not been done well, mainly because the central leadership has not paid close attention and has not determined the correct orientation. Now a clear orientation and system must be established. Lu Yi's creative work was relatively vigorous in the first half of last year, but later it declined, with many non-realistic and non-artistic works appearing.
