Inscription for the Production Campaign of the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University[1]

(March 1, 1939)

Study on one hand, produce on the other,
Overcome difficulties, strike terror into the enemy.

Mao Zedong

[1] In March 1939, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China convened a mobilization rally in Yan'an for Party, government, military, and student personnel, calling on everyone to pitch in together, struggle arduously, in order to break the blockade and surmount the hardships. At this meeting, Mao Zedong inscribed for the great production campaign launched by the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University: "Study on one hand, produce on the other, overcome difficulties, strike terror into the enemy."
