Reply to Zhou Enlai and Others[1]

Agree to the proposal to organize a committee for the New Fourth Army, with Xiang Ying, Ye Ting, Chen Yi, Zhang Yunyi, Zhou Zikun[2], and Yuan Guoping as committee members, Xiang as chairman and Ye as vice-chairman.

[1] This is the main content of a telegram from Mao Zedong and Luo Fu (Zhang Wentian) in reply to Zhou Enlai, Chen Shaoyu (Wang Ming), Bo Gu (Qin Bangxian), and Ye Jianying, with a notification to Xiang Ying. In a telegram dated June 7 to Mao Zedong and Luo Fu (Zhang Wentian), Chen Shaoyu, Zhou Enlai, Bo Gu (Qin Bangxian), and Ye Jianying stated that Ye Ting had requested the formation of a committee within the New Fourth Army to facilitate joint consultation and handling of all military and political issues.
