Speech on the Attitude of the Communist Party Toward the Three People's Principles[1]

(May 3, 1938)

The "Declaration of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Public Announcement of Kuomintang-Communist Cooperation," issued on September 22 last year, made clear the attitude of the Chinese Communist Party toward the Three People's Principles, namely, that "the Three People's Principles of Dr. Sun Yat-sen are indispensable for China today, and our Party is willing to strive for their thorough realization." The Ten-Point Program for Resisting Japan and Saving the Nation put forward by the Chinese Communist Party is in essence based on the Three People's Principles. The Chinese Communist Party is willing, together with the Kuomintang, to implement the Three People's Principles under the principle of the united front and with resistance to Japan as the foremost task. The Three People's Principles are the necessary path to the realization of socialism and communism.
