Reply to Ye Ting’s Telegram[1]

(December 14, 1937)

In principle, the New Fourth Army may conduct further consultations in accordance with He Yingqin’s proposal. Other conditions remain as previously discussed, especially that no personnel be sent by He Yingqin. If an agreement cannot be reached for the time being, it may be slightly postponed, but do not allow a rupture. Xiang Ying is to come to Wuhan immediately.
