Telegram to Zhang Wenbin[1]

(October 3, 1937)

The Kuomintang is attempting to concentrate all the guerrilla units in the South. We must on no account fall into their trap. Quickly send someone to convey the Party’s correct policy.

[1] This is the main content of a telegram from Mao Zedong and Luo Fu (Zhang Wentian) to Zhang Wenbin. Zhang Wenbin was then acting on instructions from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to go to Guangdong to organize and lead the people of Guangdong in the War of Resistance Against Japan. In October 1937, he became Secretary of the Southern Work Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
