Telegram to Pan Hannian[1]

(June 26, 1937)

The radio station between Yan’an and Nanjing is now connected. Nanjing has sent a telegram urging Zhou Enlai to go again for negotiations. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has replied by telegram, stating that Zhou Enlai will proceed only after the Central Committee has drafted the declaration on KMT-CCP cooperation and received a reply telegram from Chiang Kai-shek (we have already telegraphed Chiang Kai-shek that the overall command organ and the choice of the person to head it must still be as previously decided).
