To Comrade Wang Yizhe on Issues Such as Luo Binghui’s Unit Cooperating with the Northeastern Army in Combat (January 3, 1937)

Brother Dingfang:

(A) The situation is changing. The pro-Japanese faction is turning its forces around to attack our Anti-Japanese Allied Army. We can only unite as one with a single heart, consolidate solidarity, resolutely wage combat, and strive for the final victory.

(B) Luo Binghui’s army will set out tomorrow, the 4th, from Dashuikeng toward the vicinity of Guyuan to cooperate with your unit in combat. It will probably take five to seven days to reach the vicinity of Guyuan.

(C) Our 29th Army is in the Dingbian-Yanchi area, with a portion moving toward Ningxia to pin down Ma Hongkui. Our Independent Division is in the Sancha area. Our Red Army University Affiliated Infantry School is in Qingyang. Please instruct your esteemed army to establish contact with them.

Your younger brother, Mao Zedong
