Letter to Wang Shiying[1]

(August 14, 1936)

We must continue our work with Song Zheyuan and the Kuomintang 29th Army. As for Han Fuju, Fu Zuoyi, Yan Xishan, Zhang Zizhong, Liu Ruming, and Shang Zhen[2] in the six places, we must make contact as soon as an opportunity arises.

The united front should prioritize the various factions of the armed forces; pay the utmost attention to this.

[1] This is the main content of a letter from Mao Zedong to Wang Shiying, to be forwarded to Liu Shaoqi.
