Results in the First Phase[1]

(June 7, 1936)

Our field army is executing the Western Expedition campaign plan of the Military Commission. The Left Route Army, in the battles of Quzi and Fucheng, captured over 1,200 rifles, several mortars from Ma Hongbin’s division, took one enemy brigade commander prisoner, and captured over 1,600 officers and soldiers, occupying a vast area stretching approximately over 300 li across Hongde City, Huan County, Quzi, Fucheng, and Sancha. The Right Route Army occupied Ningtiaoliang, struck at the landlord armed forces in the Sanbian and Yanchi areas, won over tens of thousands of religious adherents and Mongol people inside and outside the Great Wall to support the anti-Japanese Red Army, and restored and expanded the territory of the Sanbian Soviet Area.

At present, the field army has completed the first step of its operational tasks and is advancing victoriously and vigorously westward.
