To Liu Zhidan and Others[1]

(April 6, 1936)

The 28th Army of the Red Army should gradually move southward, rather than having you march four or five days at a stretch. After marching one or two days, you should immediately spread out to carry out work, rest and reorganize, mobilize the masses, expand the Red Army, and wait for the enemy to approach. Then gather the troops, make another leap forward, and spread out again to work. When Xu and Cheng arrive at Sanjiao Town, they should immediately spread out along the line north and south of Sanjiao, rest, and expand the Red Army.
