Strengthen the Anti-Japanese Foundation in Shanxi[1]

To propel the nationwide anti-Japanese upsurge, the Red Army must swiftly advance eastward, rush to the anti-Japanese front, resolutely wipe out all reactionary elements obstructing the advance, and at the same time vigorously expand the Red Army, expand the base areas, broadly mobilize the masses, and let the seeds of anti-Japanese resistance take root in Shanxi.

[1] On March 12, 1936, Mao Zedong presided over a meeting of leading cadres of the First and Fifteenth Red Army Corps at Guo Jia Zhang and delivered a report on the situation and tasks. This is a part of that report.
