Over White Cloud Mountain the clouds seem to rise,
Below White Cloud Mountain the urgent cries sound.
Withered trees and rotten stumps all join in the effort.
A forest of rifles presses near,
The Flying General descends from the highest heavens.

Seven hundred li driven in fifteen days,
The Gan River’s vast waters, Fujian’s mountains green,
Sweeping the thousand foes like rolling up a mat.
There are those who weep,
Lamenting their "step-by-step fortifications"—too late for regret!
