Political Commissar Mao Zedong

Order to the First Front Army of the Red Army
About Going to Huangpi and Xiaobu to
Concentrate Our Forces

(Issued at the General Headquarters
at Nanlong at 2:00 A.M. on November 27, 1930)

1. The two regiments of enemy troops belonging to the forces commanded by
Gong which invaded Pitou on the 24th have retreated to Ji'an city.
The divisions of Jiang and Cai have already arrived in the vicinity of
Yongxin.
It looks as if the enemy troops in Tingwujiang and Yongfeng may move to
Tengtian.
It is still unclear what Tan Daoyuan's next move will be after he reaches
Le'an.
2. The Front Army has decided to concentrate its main forces, launch an
attack from the right wing, and wipe out the enemy armies one after another. The
plan is for the concentration to be completed along the line from Huangpi to
Xiaobu and Luokou by December 1; the date for the advance of each unit, and
the localities where it is to concentrate its forces, are shown separately in the
table.
3. The task of the Twentieth Army is to pin down the enemy troops on our
left wing, so that it will be easier for our troops on the right wing to fight, and to
strike a blow at the reactionary army's policy of cleansing the villages. If necessary it should also cooperate with our troops on the right wing to wipe out the
enemy; part of it should be dispersed on the west bank of the river. The main
forces should, however, be dispersed around Baisha, Shuinan, Zhonghao, Futian,
Tantou, Shaxi, Donggu, Longgang and so on; if any enemy troops approach
Taihe and Wan'an, forces should also be sent to the vicinity of Taihe and
Xingguo. In addition, they should cooperate with the masses in building dummy
fortifications on the various mountains near Donggu, so that enemy planes will
be given a false impression of where our main forces are located (if a given unit
is beyond the control of its commanders, the provincial government should command it directly).
