Order of the First Front Army
of the Red Army About Concentrating
Our Forces at Donggu, Nanlong,
and Longgang, and Preparing to
Attack the Enemy

(November 25, 1930, 2:00 P.M., at Shaxi)

1. One brigade of Gong’s¹ division of the enemy troops in Ji’an crossed the
river and arrived at Zhangjiadu on the 22nd. On the 23rd it advanced directly to
the Pitou area (it is not clear whether there are other units following).
The vanguard troops of the enemy forces that invaded Yongfeng on the 19th
approached Tengtianjie last night (the 24th); the vanguard troops of the enemy
forces at Le’an (the Fiftieth Division) approached Liukeng on the 22nd.
2. The Front Army has decided to change the decision regarding concentration which was issued on the afternoon of the 24th; instead, it has decided to
concentrate our forces in the Donggu, Nanlong, and Longgang area, and prepare to attack the enemy.
3. Our troops on the right wing (the Fourth and Twelfth Armies) should leave
their present location in the area around Shangxi and Xiaxi tomorrow (the 26th),
advance to Longgang, concentrate their forces, and await orders.
Our troops in the center (the Third Army Group), the Twenty-second Army as
well as the unit of the Twentieth Army in Donggu (all under the command of the
commander-in-chief of the Third Army Group Peng Dehuai and political commissar Teng Daiyuan) should, as soon as they receive this order, choose their own
roads and march in different groups to concentrate their forces in Donggu and
await further orders.
The Eighth Division of the Third Army should immediately leave its present
location (Shanggu), advance to Nanlong, and await further instructions. The
Thirty-sixth Division of the Twelfth Army should leave its present location for
Longgang, and join its original unit.
