1. Our Front Army, acting on instructions from the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, has decided that, prior to achieving revolutionary uprising and seizing national power with Wuhan as the initial breakthrough, we shall unite with the millions of workers, peasants, and poor people in Jiangxi under a strategy of concentrated offensive. With maximum intensity, speed, and courage, we are to capture Nanchang–Nanxun Railway and advance as far as Hukou, annihilate Lu Diping and the reactionary regime in Jiangxi, cut off and blockade the Yangtze River, strike rightward toward Nanjing, and secure our left flank to support the effort to capture Wuhan. Accordingly, the first-phase plan for seizing Nanchang is as follows: the First Corps will conduct the main attack, while the Third Corps will take Xiajiang, Xin’gan, and Ji’an.

2. This Corps resolves to depart from Zhuzhou on the morning of the 14th, conducting dispersed work along the way. Its tasks are to mobilize the masses, raise funds, and sew uniforms. The march will last a total of seventeen days, with the entire Corps required to assemble in Yanfu Township, Ji’an, no later than the 30th of this month.

3. The Eleventh Army should set out from here tomorrow, advancing to the Huangtuling–You County area to carry out its mission; thereafter it will proceed via Lianhua and Anfu, arriving in Yanfu Township by the 30th of this month to join the assembly, and will also assume guard duty on the Yizhou front.

4. Starting tomorrow, the Fourth Army will deploy from Zhuzhou to Baiguanpu, Yaojialong, Lukou, Yutanan Bay, Shenfu Bay, Sifenpu, Shentan, and other locations. Its working period will be eleven days, with all units expected to converge at Pingxiang along the railway by the 14th. A separate order will then be issued detailing the marching plan for the Third and Fourth Armies, together with the Headquarters Directly Subordinate Units, and they will also be responsible for maintaining vigilance in the Changsha direction.

5. The Third Army should depart from here at dawn tomorrow and move into Dongchongpu, working in Banyupu, Liling, Huangshapu, Chudong Bridge, and other localities for eleven days. All units are to gather at Pingxiang along the railway by the 14th and stand by for further orders.

6. Headquarters and the Directly Subordinate Units, together with the Workers’ and Peasants’ Military Committee, will set out tomorrow and follow behind the three armies. From the 15th to the 14th, they will remain between Liling and Pingxiang. Notes: • The Fourth Army is to destroy the major railway bridge on the Guangzhou–Hankou Line within the Zhuzhou–Changsha section tomorrow, and to dismantle the track ties for more than ten li beyond. • After the Eleventh Army reaches You County, it will maintain telephone communication with the Fourth Army remaining there and with Headquarters upon its arrival in Liling; vehicular transport is available between You County and Liling. 3. Should the bulk of the enemy forces in Changsha draw near, the Fourth Army should withdraw toward Liling and Pingxiang. 4. Our Third Corps has already begun advancing along the Liling–Pingxiang route. 5. At dawn tomorrow, when the Three Armies and the Eleventh Army commence their march, they will share approximately ten li of the railway line; the Three Armies are to travel on the left side of the tracks, while the Eleventh Army will use the right. During the period of dispersal, a small daily allowance of one silver dollar may be distributed to cover expenses, plus an additional four-tael supplement for September’s straw sandals. 7. Uniforms are to include padded jackets, and each soldier is to receive a full set of bedding.
