1. The enemy’s Tan Division, having learned of the disastrous defeat of the Zhang Division, began its retreat at 5:00 a.m. today. One part fled via Yuantou and Zhongcun toward Nanbei Keng; its rearguard was intercepted by our First Route Army, which captured a large quantity of weapons. The main body, meanwhile, withdrew via Nantuan toward Dongshao. Judging from this situation, it appears the enemy is preparing to withdraw along the entire front. (Other enemy dispositions remain unchanged.)

2. The Second Front Army has decided to pursue the enemy at Dongshao starting at dawn tomorrow, then successively destroy the two regiments and two brigades—amounting to two divisions—under the rebel Zhu Shaoliang, thereby establishing political prestige.

3. The Eleventh Route Army will conduct the main assault on the center. It should reach the vicinity of Dongshao Street via Nantuan and Linchi before 10:00 a.m. tomorrow and advance toward Dongshao. It is to occupy positions north of Linchi and south of Shayanzui. The Third Corps will serve as the left wing. It should arrive near Pitou before 10:00 a.m. tomorrow and launch an attack against the enemy at Dongshao. The Third Army will form the right wing. By 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, it is to move to Tianying, where its main force will pin down any reinforcements from the enemy Xu Division at Luokou, while a separate detachment will outflank to the eastern end of Dongshao Street, seizing the high ground at the northern tip of Shaxiaping and launching an attack on Dongshao. The Fourth Army will function as the general reserve, stationed at Longtan to the west of Dongshao. (The Fourth Army is to set out at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow and follow behind the Eleventh Route Army.) The Political Security Regiment will remain at Matian. At dawn tomorrow, it is to dispatch guerrilla units toward Luokou, Dongshanba, and Pingtian to carry out guerrilla operations. The baggage trains of the Third Corps will follow behind the Third Army. Similarly, the Third Army’s baggage train will proceed behind the Third Army, while the baggage trains of the Fourth and Twelfth Armies—commanded by a baggage officer appointed by the Twelfth Army—will follow behind the Fourth Army. Baggage columns must not intermingle with the marching formations.

4. The General Command Post, together with the Workers’ and Peasants’ Revolutionary Committee, will follow the Fourth Army to Longtan, the general reserve’s position, and there assume command. Addendum: The baggage route for the Third Corps runs from Yuantou through Zengfang, Shi’aoxia, Qima’ao, Zhangjiaqian, Yangtan, Luyuan, Fengshanxia, Xintan, Baishui, and Chenjia to Pitou. The baggage route for the Eleventh Route Army goes from Xiachao via Nantuan, Jiaobian, Aobei, Wangjiakeng, and Longtan to Dongshao. Each unit may choose its own location for dressing stations. The field hospital will be situated in Yangcheng, and each division is to assign personnel to transport patients there. All units directly under central command are to rise at 6:00 a.m., have breakfast at 6:30, and complete preparations by 7:30, standing by for departure.
