On November 23, a telegram was sent from Beijing stating: “The diplomatic mission has received a detailed report from Guangdong noting that although Chiang Kai-shek’s policies are labeled as ‘red,’ they actually show great care for the people. By contrast, when the anti-Communist forces led by Chen Linhong and others enter a locality, they often engage in Communist-like practices.” It turns out that ‘redification’ simply means showing concern for the people. If ‘redification’ is merely another term for ‘my way of doing things,’ how could it possibly spread throughout all of China!
