Answers to the Questions, Item by Item:

(1) What ideology does one hold regarding China, which is currently beset by both internal turmoil and external threats? I am a communist and advocate for the proletarian socialist revolution. However, given the present internal and external pressures, it is clear that no single class can overthrow them alone. Therefore, I support a national revolution based on cooperation among the proletariat, the petty bourgeoisie, and the left wing of the middle class, implementing the Three Principles of the People of the Nationalist Party to defeat imperialism, the warlords, and the comprador landlord class (i.e., the large Chinese bourgeoisie and the right wing of the middle class closely allied with imperialists and warlords), thereby establishing a joint dictatorship of the proletariat, the petty bourgeoisie, and the left wing of the middle class—a dictatorship of the revolutionary masses.

(2) What attitude do you hold toward improving the work of this association? There are evidently conflicting ideological positions among its members, and many members lack a genuine commitment to the association’s aims. Under these circumstances, the Young China Association has little practical purpose, and I therefore propose that it be dissolved.

(3) Please briefly describe your experiences since joining the association.

(a) Academic Studies: I have been engaged in the study of social sciences, with a particular focus on the problems of Chinese peasants.

(b) Professional Activities: I taught for one year, participated in workers’ movements for two years, in peasant movements for half a year, and was involved in organizational work within the Nationalist Party for one year. November 21, 1925, Republic of China Year 14.

(Note: In his response to the “Young China Association Survey” in July 1925, Comrade Mao Zedong articulated his views on the Chinese revolutionary question, clearly setting forth the basic ideas of the New Democratic Revolution.)
