Our Party's Guangdong Provincial Congress is convening and is issuing a daily publication, which should have an inaugural message.
Our Party, from the Tongmenghui to the Chinese Kuomintang, has a history of twenty years, and had the reorganization of January last year; from the near success and then failure of the Xinhai Revolution, a history of fourteen years, and has the present revolution leading the entire nation's people against imperialism and against the warlords; and today, amidst the sounds of brutal massacres by imperialism throughout the country, amidst the sounds of reactionary warlords suppressing the patriotic movement with high pressure, amidst the sounds of cannon fire on the Dongjiang, there is the convocation of the Guangdong Provincial Congress.

These are not the sudden appearance of individual subjectivism or the chance of a momentary incident; these are the inevitability of observing the environment and the advance of historical facts.

We obtained the correct revolutionary strategy from the National Congress of January last year.

In the two years from last year to this year, in the high tide of the anti-imperialist and anti-warlord movement across the country, by implementing our correct revolutionary strategy, we have gained experience in propaganda, organization, and in attacking and defending against the enemy.

What will we obtain from this Guangdong Provincial Congress? Our great leader Mr. Sun Zhongshan, in response to the objective environment of China being heavily oppressed by foreign powers, warlords, compradors, and the landlord class, laid down for us the revolutionary Three Principles of the People.

Although our great leader is dead, the revolutionary Three Principles of the People are not dead.

How to make the revolutionary Three Principles of the People a reality in Guangdong is the sole work of the Guangdong comrades.

Our late leader Mr. Sun Zhongshan saw clearly that our main enemy is imperialism, and thus laid down the revolutionary Principle of Nationalism.
He also saw clearly that the important tools with which imperialism exploits the Chinese people are the warlords, the big merchant-comprador class, and the landlord class, and again laid down the revolutionary Principle of Democracy and the revolutionary Principle of the People's Livelihood.

The revolutionary Principle of Nationalism calls on us to resist imperialism, so that the Chinese nation may achieve liberation.

The revolutionary Principle of Democracy calls on us to resist the warlords, so that the Chinese people may establish themselves in a ruling position.

The revolutionary Principle of the People's Livelihood calls on us to resist the big merchant-comprador class, and especially the landlord class, that fundamental source of all feudal-patriarchal reactionary forces, so that the great majority of China's poor and suffering people may enjoy economic well-being.

The comrades of Guangdong, in resisting imperialism (the Shameen strike, the Guangzhou-Hong Kong strike), resisting the warlords (overthrowing Chen and Lin [2], overthrowing Yang and Liu [3]), resisting the big merchant-comprador class (suppressing the Merchants' Corps incident), and resisting the landlord class (the bitter struggles of the peasants against the landlord class in Haifeng, Guangning, Shunde, Bao'an... and other counties), have in all these great movements acted as leaders of the people.

In the midst of these resistance movements, two hundred thousand organized workers, five hundred thousand organized peasants, and tens of thousands of trained troops were gained, and many patriotic merchants and students have come under the banner of our Party, establishing a revolutionary foundation for our Party in the south! Upon this foundation, the National Government that directs the national revolutionary movement has been built.

Although many comrades from other provinces participated in the various movements, the Guangdong comrades truly made the greatest effort.

Guangdong is a place in close proximity to British imperialism, a place where fallen warlords like Chen, Lin, and Deng Benyin [4] cunningly plot their comeback, a place where the big merchant-comprador class like Chen Lianbo [5] is concentrated, and moreover a place where the landlord class colludes with imperialism and the warlords to severely exploit and oppress the peasants.

How to examine past work, stipulate future methods, and produce a powerful provincial-level supreme command organ, to be used to develop the organizations of the people of all circles, especially to develop the organization of the great peasant masses who constitute eighty percent of Guangdong's total population, that is, over twenty million people, so as to safeguard and expand our victory and make the Three Principles of the People fully realized in Guangdong, is the responsibility of the Guangdong Provincial Congress.

Down with British imperialism! Down with Chen Jiongming, and clear out all counter-revolutionaries! Down with the comprador class that endangers Guangdong! Down with the landlord class that colludes with imperialism and the warlords to brutally murder the peasants! Long live the revolutionary Three Principles of the People!
