Advertisement Regarding Evening School
Enrollment 1 (March 2,1918)
—Students enrolled last year may register in the reception room of the normal
school.
—Any new students wishing to attend the evening school, regardless of their age
or how many characters they know, may register in the reception room of the normal school and write down their name, address, occupation, age, and other personal
information.
—Classes begin on the fifth day of the second month according to the lunar calendar.
When you come for registration, bring your own brush and ink-stick. Classes will take
place in Guomin School, which is next to the Normal School.
• Classes will last two hours every evening, from 7:00 to 9:00;
• Classes will run six evenings a week this year, every night with no breaks;
• No tuition will be charged, and the teaching materials will be provided;
• Every evening in the evening school, people are welcome to listen in whenever
there are empty seats.

taken, also contains the following explanation: “The advertisement was first written by Mr. Mao Zedong
on March 2, but it was recorded in the journal later.”
