The Ganecki Case
On the issue of Ganecki, the narrow composition of the Central Committee has decided not to appoint him as a representative in Stockholm.

This means that the previous decision of the Central Committee has been overturned.

I propose to overturn this decision for the following reasons:
What are the arguments against Ganecki?

He has been known since 1903, is a member of the Polish Central Committee, worked for many years as a central committee member, we saw his work in Krakow, trips to Russia, etc., we saw him at all the congresses, and so on.

The arguments are only bourgeois slander, Zaslavsky's outcries.

It would be directly unworthy of a workers' party to show such susceptibility to intellectual gossip. Let someone first prove something bad about Ganecki; before that, we should not remove him.
"But Ganecki traded with Parvus," everyone says.

Ganecki earned his bread as an employee in a trading firm, of which Parvus was a shareholder. This is what Ganecki told me. This has not been disproven.

Is it forbidden to work in capitalist trading companies? Where? By what decision of the party?

Are there no people among us who work in trading firms of Russian, English, and other capitalists?

Or can one be technicians, managers, or employees of Russian capitalists, but not German ones, even while living in a neutral country?? And will this be decided by an "internationalist" party??

Let them decide this directly, let them issue a general resolution, let them justify the step against Ganecki.

When Bukharin wanted to go work for Parvus as a writer, we advised him against it, because it was still not a trading firm. But, having advised against it, we did not hound those who served Parvus. Zurov and a bunch of others, we did not hound or accuse them.

Who and where accused them?

Why have we not yet questioned the Copenhagen residents and others who knew about Ganecki's trade and did not condemn him? We could and should have done this.

Not a single fact has been established against Ganecki, no prohibition has been issued to work in the trading firms of capitalists from all countries, the rumors and slanders of known slanderers, like Zaslavsky, have not been verified - and "to remove"?? There is nothing here but "fear" of the gossip of irresponsible gossips.

It is unworthy of a workers' party to be guided by such susceptibility to gossip. If comrades who give in to gossip are "agitated," "concerned," why don't they bother to do a little work? Wouldn't it be better to work to find the truth than to repeat gossip? In Petersburg itself (if the agitated comrade wants to work, not to decide without effort), one can find witnesses from Copenhagen, as well as in Moscow. Why don't the anonymous accusers of Ganecki from our ranks do this??

Such treatment of an absent comrade who has worked for more than 10 years is the height of injustice.
