Dear friend! I earnestly request that you undertake the task of keeping us informed during the revolutionary days in Russia 354.

We are sitting here without newspapers.

I request you:

1) to send us daily (by ordinary parcel post) Berlin newspapers with the m o s t
important news from Russia ("Vorwarts", and perhaps even better, "Berliner
Tageblatt" 355: choose whichever has more telegrams from Russia).

2) likewise Russian newspapers from Petersburg and Moscow (we have only the "Kievskaya Mysl")
— "Rech", "Novoe Vremya" (from the beginning of July onwards)...

3) telegrams about especially, exceptionally important events, should such occur,
like uprisings in the military forces, etc.

Address for everything (and for telegrams): Ulianow (only two words). Poronin.

We will cover the expenses. Write immediately on a postcard whether you are willing (I hope you will not refuse) and how much money to send.
(The postal and telegraph rates here are the same as within Germany).

So, I await your reply.

Your Lenin

P.S. Please also send me clippings from "Vorwarts" on everything relating to
the Brussels conference of 16-18 July 1914 and to the "bloc" there (Rosa + Plekhanov
+ Alexinsky + liquidators, etc.).
