A. Kollontai.

Dear A. M.,

Very grateful for your letter. I will send the address of the Socialist Propaganda League if I still have it in Berne; otherwise I will send it from Berne later (i.e., in 2-3 weeks).

Will the Appeal to Reason reprint Internationales Flugblatt No. 1?

Is it worth trying?

Will the Socialist Labour Party agree to publish it with our money?

Are these people hopeless sectarians or not? Do you have any connections with them? Why do they not send us copies of their papers for the Internationale Sozialistische Kommission? (I happened to see part of them.) Or are they maniacs of their "idée fixe" about a special "economic" organisation of the workers?

You ask how desirable it is that the Norwegian Party should send an official delegate to the conference.

Of course, a conscious and sensible leftist from the youth is a thousand times better than a rightist or a half-Kautskian from the party.

That is clear.

If you can, exert influence in this spirit.

I am very, very distressed that we differ on the question of self-determination. Let us try to argue it out thoroughly, without squabbling (which some are preparing for us on this question with all their might).

Entre nous: perhaps Alexander will show you my reply to N. I. Bukharin's remarks (this discord must for now remain strictly within the narrowest circle, but I rely on your discretion).

Lenin Miscellany.
March 1916.

This question ("self-determination") is extremely important. Moreover, it is inseparably linked with the question of annexations.

I firmly shake your hand and send best greetings! — Yours, Lenin.

P.S. I sent Alexander a very long letter a few days ago. Has he received it?

[Postscript by N. K. Krupskaya.]

Dear A. M.! We have news from one prisoner-of-war camp that your pamphlet is a huge success, being read and discussed by large and small groups. They send thanks to the author.

Warm greetings! Nadezhda Krupskaya.
