LENIN MISCELLANY.
This question ("self-determination]") is archi-important.
Besides, it is inextricably linked with the question of annexations.
I shake your hand firmly and send my best regards!— Yours, Lep[iп\
P. S. I sent a fat letter to Alexandr the other day. Did he receive it?
[Postscript by N. K. Krupskaya].
Dear A. M.! We have news from one prisoner-of-war camp,
that your pamphlet is a great success, it is read and discussed
by large and small groups. They send thanks to the author.
Big hello! Nadezhda] Krupskaya I.

5) Allusion to disagreements and struggle that arose between Vladimir
Ilyich, on the one hand, and Comrades Radek, Pyatakov, etc., on the other
hand, in view of the latter's deviation in a number of points — in particular
and especially in the question of "self-determination" — from the point of view of the Central
Organ of the party.
The result of these disagreements was, among other things, the cessation of publication of the
"Communist" and the article directed against
Comrade. 10. Pyatakov by Vladimir Ilyich: "On a Caricature of Marxism
and Imperialist Economism."
H hints at these disagreements are contained also in the following letters (cal No. 35, No. 38 (postscript about the article
by Comrade Radek), Л5 40, Л? 41).
Between ourselves.

Dear A. M.!
Only now I learned from the letter of Alexandr to Grigory about the sad fate of friends in that city from where
Alexander] arrived 2).
I hope you will set in motion all your connections and use
all dependent, possible and impossible efforts to rescue them and help them in every possible way?
I have decided not to write to Branting, because my recommendation now
in all respects — you understand — is capable of damaging.
Probably, it will be best if you move the case through your
Norwegian friends. If anything else is needed, telegraph.
(If necessary, can you contact via Denmark? Through
German Social Democratic deputies would also be good, but only the right-wing
are very angry at you.
If only you could try through non-right-wing
Social Democratic Germans...)
I am surprised that Alexandr received only 1 letter from
me.
I
sent them three:
the second to that city, from where
Alexandr arrived (to the "party secretary".
address of the people's house — call there, if possible);
the third — to his current address.
I hope he received the 3rd one now?
I am waiting for letters from him, otherwise he is being very stingy.
Big hello to him from me and from N. K. to you too.
Yours, Lenin.
