THE COMMISSION FOR THE AFFAIRS OF WAR PRISONERS.
DRAFT RESOLUTION OF THE SNK 1.
[April 16, 1918; A Commission is appointed, consisting of Comrade Unshlntkh and two members of the CEC—Tikhmenov and Enukndze—for the purpose of reviewing the affairs of the sub‑department concerned with war prisoners, consolidating these matters—since they have been fragmented across various Commissariats—and adopting the most vigorous measures to streamline the evacuation and exchange of war prisoners.
The Commission is authorized to submit reports to the Council of People’s Commissars.
The Commission is obligated to enlist the participation of representatives from all relevant Commissariats and institutions, striving to achieve a systematic consolidation of their respective efforts.

I am particularly interested in the fate of Inspector Ivan Yakovlevich Yakovlev, who spent fifty years working toward the national revival of the Chuvash people and endured numerous persecutions under the Tsarist regime. I believe that Yakovlev should not be detached from the very cause that has defined his life*.
