1 The telegram refers to the blowing up of a bridge across the Volga at Simbirsk by the enemy. Chief of Military Communications of the Eastern Front Katin requested technical assistance from Moscow for the restoration of the bridge. On the telegram there is a notation by SNK Secretary A. P. Kizas of L. D. Trotsky's response indicating that such an order had been issued three days earlier.
