Dear Radek! The pamphlet by Spectator* is so absurd that at first I doubted whether it was worth answering. But since this petty intriguer is attempting in the most vile and stupid manner to play upon our disagreements, I believe — especially since he mentions me personally, and only me — that to answer him is both my right and my duty. I shall do everything to ensure that the reply is published not only in the Russian language.

As regards our draft resolution against the defense of the fatherland (for Switzerland),** I forgot to tell you the following: my draft (in my theses — the first §§) satisfied you, that is to say, I then managed to express the general point of view. Why not adopt it as the basis for the common draft?

Best regards.
