Dear Alexei Ivanovich!

So, the matter of your trip has been settled. It has been approved through the Politburo—102. You are obligated to remain until the second operation and complete recovery. I have seen Tsyurupa and received his highly favorable assessment of treatment under the Germans. I have no doubt that you will be fully cured (I have reviewed the doctors’ report on your condition), provided you muster just a bit more patience. —

- I am sending you the resolution concerning Tsyurupa, along with my draft plan for organizing his treatment and

your own work—103.

G. B. KRASNOŠČEKOVA, December 3, 1921

The first and second drafts, as you will see from this plan, are intended to develop new lines of inquiry. For now, pending your arrival and our experience with Tsyurupa, we have decided not to formalize this plan into a resolution. Let us first test it out and verify its practical efficacy. Please share your thoughts.

For now, farewell—and take your treatment seriously.

Yours, Lenin
