Dear Comrade!

I hasten to answer some of your questions. A report on the conference — this is a necessary and most important thing. I hope that, having once undertaken it, you will already travel throughout all of Switzerland, and not just two cities.64 "From the notice I cannot conclude what steps were taken by it to attract various foreign currents and national organizations." So you write.

But in the notice it is stated directly and precisely that the Forwardists were invited + Trotsky + Plekhanov, and the nationals three times? What more could there be?

Lunacharsky had the audacity to say at Zinoviev's report in Paris that here was a "Gaunerkniff,"** because it was not the conference that called, but rather the delegates who happened to be traveling. — Well, is not this Lunacharsky a scoundrel? 23 sessions = 12 days: if one did not call in advance, then the invitees would have missed half (sending a letter, announcing, traveling — count it up!). And from Trotsky's letter it is clear that 7 persons were called = 1/2 of the total of 14.

I was against the invitations, but the delegates invited both the Forwardists and Trotsky and Plekhanov.

The chairman of the credentials commission was a delegate from Kiev (a Menshevik). Even Trotsky admitted (reluctantly!) that this is an indisputable organization.

Whom will the worker believe? The Kiev organization or foreign loudmouths?

Do not believe rumors. Neither the Plekhanovites, nor the Forwardists, nor anyone left the conference.

There were only two Menshevik party members in total: from Kiev — he conducted himself most correctly and went along in general with us. From Ekaterinoslav — he conducted himself most contentiously, but he too did not leave the conference, he only submitted "protests" in the spirit of Plekhanov.

The Ekaterinoslav delegate submitted his own draft resolution on constituting [the conference], where he fully acknowledged that all had been notified, protested against those who did not appear, but wanted to constitute [the body] as a conference of Russian organizations. He remained alone with this proposal.

Now 12 delegates in Russia — everywhere they are making reports. From Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev, Samara, Nikolaev, and Tiflis there are already letters about this. The work has begun and will continue.

The Bund + the Latvians are trying to rig up a conference with the Liquidators. Let them try! Deeds, gentlemen, not words are needed!! You were powerless (+ Trotsky + the Forwardists) from 26. XI. 1910,65 when Trotsky proclaimed the convening of the conference, powerless you were and will remain.

We have broken with the Liquidators, the party has broken with them. Let them try to create another RSDLP with the Liquidators! It is laughable.

The Social Democratic Duma fraction is plainly neither for us nor for those. But (1) at our conference there were 2 deputies66; (2) in *Zvezda* among the contributors 9 Social Democratic deputies are listed, in the Liquidators' *Zhivoe Delo* 4. Here are your facts!
