THE NUMBER OF KILLED AND WOUNDED.
Reports differ regarding the number of killed and wounded. It goes without saying that an exact count is out of the question, and judging by eye is very difficult. The government announcement of 96 killed and 330 wounded is obviously mendacious, and no one believes it. According to the latest newspaper reports, on January 13 the journalists handed to the minister of internal affairs a list of 4,600 killed and wounded, a list compiled by reporters. Of course, even this figure cannot be complete, because even in the daytime (let alone at night) it would have been impossible to count all the killed and wounded in all the clashes.

The victory of the autocracy over the unarmed people cost no fewer victims than the great battles in Manchuria. Not without reason, as all foreign correspondents report, the workers of Petersburg shouted to the officers that they fight more successfully against the Russian people than against the Japanese.
