*Issue No. 181 of "Rus" dated August 20(7) published the manifesto of August 19(6) on the State Duma, the regulation on the State Duma and the schedule of the number of members of the State Duma by provinces, regions and cities. From here Lonin takes all the data for numerical calculations about the electors. In the same issue of "Rus" there is an article without a signature "on a new path." Lenin's excerpts have in mind the following two paragraphs of this article: a) "We are ready to say that such a boycott would be first of all a boycott against the peasants and against ourselves. After all, Russia will certainly not share the hasty opinion expressed by the new Moscow Governor-General Durnovo that creative work is already over and there is actually nothing more to discuss" and tj) "...we can only repeat the very weighty arguments of the "Vestnik Evropy" that awareness of the imperfections of the electoral system is compatible with work in a representative assembly elected on the basis of this system... Indeed, there are plenty of proofs of this in Western European history. The magazine, by the way, recalls how under Luip-Fillin Garie-Pages Senior and L"dru-Rollin, convinced supporters of universal voting, sat, and with great benefits, in a chamber created from large taxpayers."

TO THE BIOGRAPHY OF STEPHAN BORN

* TO THE BIOGRAPHY OF STEPHAN BORN
AUGUST, AFTER 26, 1905 GENEVA.
In the first edition of the pamphlet "Two Tactics of Social-Democracy in the Democratic Revolution," Lenin made a mistake.
He mistook Born's real last name — Buttermilch — for a nickname. B. Koltsov dedicated a whole feuilleton to this minor error in "Iskra" of August 26(43) under the heading "How Lenin Deepened Engels." In the 4908 edition of the pamphlet (Soch., m. F ///, p. 426), Lenin stipulated his mistake and ridiculed Koltsov. Apparently, in connection with this incident
Lenin collected a significant part of the biographical information about Born available in the literature. The documents printed below b,
c and d contain biographical notes about Born, and the appendix contains excerpts from a letter from O. G. Lifshits from Berlin, signed by her. Gnedich — concerns, among other things, the same question.
