Tov. Trotsky!

I am sending Zinoviev's letter1.

They want to knock out Mayer2and therefore shout against the exclusion of the "Left"!!!3

I think we should write a letter as a party, I advise to take one of the leftists in the Central Committee, then at the congress to close the Taktik und Organisation4 and besides to adopt at the congress a letter against factions and nagging.

It is said, too, that Cetkin is against E. Meyer in the Central Committee. Is it true?

Bring back the p[i s]mo of Zinoviev.

Now I have had Monmusso and a railroad slave communist (Senar? 1*)5.

An idea suggested by them or on which they had stumbled:

As an exception, in view of the crisis of partization, in view of the special conditions of Séguété2*, declare:

For the time being, the Comintern renounces all idea of party supremacy and calls this party and this (pevolucion) Séguété to work in friendship in the spirit of all its decisions. They both say: the outcome will be that all the pevolucion workers will join the party and then it will be purified. Then it will be in fact a communist party.

Why not?

The party is rubbish. It can't be improved. A split? It'll be worse.

Séguété is in fact the party itself. There are no more anarchists in it than "politiciens "3* in the party.

Distrust of the party is universal, among everyone (even Communists) in France.

Let's take a leap.

We do not renounce any resolutions. And for the time being this party does not want to give a shadow of a preponderance, for it is no better than Séguété. And we shall see.

They assure us that then all revolutionary workers will join the party.

It's a question of ego, of distrust, of tradition, a question of "who will start".

Will we start? What's tradition to us?

The Franzuz Party with the centrists will be no worse.

What's your opinion?

Your Lenin.

1The letter of G.E.Zinoviev is missing.

2This is what V.I.Lenin writes, correctly Meyer.

3V.I.Lenin is referring to the speeches made at the joint meeting of the delegations of the RCP(b) and the Communist Party of Germany during the Fourth Congress of the Communist International on November 16, 1922, which discussed the question of the establishment and nature of a workers' government in Germany.

4V.I.Lenin is referring to the collection: Taktik und Organisation der revolutionaren Offensive. Die Lehren der MSrz-Aktion. Hrsg. von der Zentrale der Vereinigten Kommunistischen Partei Deutschlands. (Sektion der Kommunistischen Internationale). Leipzig, 1921, 85 s. (Tactics and organization of the revolutionary offensive. Lessons from the events of March. Leipzig, 1921, 85 pages). Lenin's library has preserved it. Lenin studied it, on many pages there are his remarks, notes, underlining (see: V.I.Lenin. Biographical Chronicle. Vol. 10. M., 1979, pp. 539-540). Lenin received the collection in June 1921.

5V.I.Lenin writes a letter after a conversation with G. Monmousseau and P. Semard about the revolutionary movement in France, about the unification of the revolutionary work of the Confederation of Labor and the French Communist Party, about their possible unification, etc., and about their possible unification.
