Comrade Radek!

Please arrange for Levin to come see me (we spoke about him yesterday; he has a thorough command of German and will assist me in preparing a paper for the Communist International).

Let it be at 7 p.m. (and have him check in half an hour earlier, after calling the secretary).

Yours, Lenin.

1The Secretary of the Sovnarkom of the RSFSR, L.A. Fotieva, relayed the contents of the note to K.B. Radek over the telephone on November 11, 1922. That same evening, at 7 p.m., M.L. Levin—editor of the German Section of the Executive Committee of the Communist International—was with Lenin, helping to prepare the report for the Fourth Congress of the Communist International, “Five Years of the Russian Revolution and the Prospects of the World Revolution.” Lenin delivered his address on November 13, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., speaking in German (see Lenin, V.I., Complete Collected Works, vol. 45, pp. 278–294).
