October 20, 1922. Dear Comrades!
Our newspapers have published exceptionally favorable reports on the work carried out by members of your Society in the Soviet farms of Kirsanov District, Tambov Governorate, as well as at the station of Mitino, Odessa Governorate—and also on the activities of a group of miners from the Donets Basin.145
Despite the colossal difficulties, and especially in light of the devastation wrought during the Civil War, you have achieved successes that must be regarded as truly exceptional.
I am eager to express my profound gratitude to you, with the request that you publish this message in the official organ of your Society and, if possible, also in the general press of the United States of America.
I hereby submit a petition to the Presidium of the VTsIK for the recognition of the most outstanding farms as model enterprises and for the provision of special, extraordinary assistance—assistance that is indispensable for the successful development of their operations.
Once again, on behalf of our Republic, I extend to you my deepest thanks and ask that you bear in mind that your assistance in tractor-based land cultivation is particularly timely and of great importance to us.
It gives me particular pleasure to congratulate you on your planned establishment of 200 agricultural communes.
