I propose: to cancel the closure by finding a convenient form of cancellation and to wait for a couple more issues, and to collect detailed information about Lezhnev.

Lenin.

1L.B.Kamenev, fulfilling Lenin's instructions, sent the following note to the members of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the RCP(b): "I suggest that all members of the Politbureau within 3 days read No. 2 of the journal "New Russia", closed by the comrades in St. Petersburg and vote on the following proposal: 1) to cancel the closure, finding an appropriate form of this cancellation or 2) to confirm the closure.

The question was put to a vote in view of the doubts that arose in Mr. Lenin's mind after reading the books. Lenin, after reading the book, had doubts as to whether the Petersburgers had not hastened the closure of this Right-Smenovekhov journal.

In the Politburo of the Central Committee of the RCP(b) Lenin's proposal was discussed on May 26, 1922, and it was decided: "a) To propose t. Meshcheryakov (Glavnoe Directorate for Press Affairs) as the highest authority to authorize further publication of the journal "New Russia", canceling the decision of the St. Petersburg Executive Committee to close it" (RCCHIDNI, f. 17, op. 3, d. 295, l. 4). At a meeting of the Politburo on June 1, 1922, G.E.Zinoviev proposed to reconsider the resolution of May 26, but the Politburo instructed the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee to "immediately implement the decision of the Politburo of 26.V of this year, calling representatives of the Petrograd Executive Committee. At the same time, take measures to ensure that the Mensheviks in the magazine "New Russia" was not" (ibid., d. 296, l. 3).

"New Russia" - a monthly journal of politics-economics-society-literature-literature-art-criticism, published in Moscow and Petrograd-Leningrad in 1922-1926.

Lenin's personal library in the Kremlin has 1 and 2 issues of this magazine for 1922.
