1After an examination of Lenin's health, German professors O. Ferster and G. Klemperer recommended that he go far away from Moscow, better in the mountains, but not higher than 700-1000 meters. On April 6, 1922 Lenin spoke about it by phone with G.K.Ordzhonikidze and asked him to find a suitable place for treatment and rest in the Caucasus by May 7. The next day, after a conversation with A.Ya.Belenkiy, Lenin sent Ordzhonikidze a letter in which he outlined in more detail the desired conditions for treatment and rest (see: Lenin V.I. Complete Works, vol. 54, pp. 229-230).
