March 2, 1922

With my help, you have now received what is necessary for your work. Despite all our poverty and wretchedness, in addition to the sums previously issued, further large sums have been allocated to you.

Take the strictest care: 1) not to do anything to no purpose, 2) not to overreach beyond what the funds allocated permit, 3) to ensure that the experiments you conduct attain the maximum degree of conclusiveness and give final answers about the practical and economic suitability of the new method of extracting peat, 4) to pay redoubled attention to ensuring that accounts are kept of the expenditure of the sums allocated to you.

The accounts must be organized in such a way that it is possible to judge the cost of the peat extracted.
