TO THE EDITORIAL OFFICE OF “PRAVDA” 1
Comrade G. Safarov writes to me on August 21, 1921, stating that “the editorial board of ‘Pravda’ has refused to publish his article on Turkestan, even as a matter for discussion.”
I request that this article be sent to me.
September 2, 1921 – Lenin
1 Written in connection with the receipt of a letter from G. I. Safarov, a member of the Turk Bureau of the Central Committee of the RCP(b), who reported on the proceedings of the VI Congress of the Communist Party of Turkestan and on the disagreements with M. P. Tomsky, Chairman of the All‑Russian Central Executive Committee and the Council of People’s Commissars for Turkestan affairs, regarding questions of economic policy in Turkestan.
On the same day, V. I. Lenin forwarded a letter to Safarov addressed to the members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the RCP(b) (see Complete Collected Works, Volume 53, p. 161).
At the top of the letter, V. I. Lenin instructed the secretary: “Keep a copy. Verify implementation.”
