Krestinsky writes to me that Gorky left Riga completely without money and bases his prospects on receiving author's fees from Stomonyakov for the publication of his books. Krestinsky thinks it is necessary to include Gorky among the comrades receiving treatment abroad at the expense of the party or the Soviet. I propose to pass a Politburo resolution to include Gorky among such comrades and to ensure that he is fully provided with the necessary sum for treatment.
