DRAFT OBLIGATION.
[Between September 23 and 30, 1921]
Do the leaders and organizers of the enterprise agree to
sign themselves and obtain from all those traveling from America to Russia
the following subscription obligation:
1. We undertake to carry out and are collectively responsible
for the fact that only people who are able to and ready to consciously endure a series of severe hardships, inevitably
associated with the restoration of industry in a country that is very
backward and unprecedentedly ruined.
2. Those traveling to Russia undertake to work with maximum
effort and with the highest labor productivity and discipline, exceeding the capitalist norm, for otherwise
Russia will not be able to overtake capitalism or even catch up with it.
3. We undertake to refer all cases of conflict, without exception, of whatever
nature these conflicts may be, to the final resolution of the Supreme Soviet Authority of Russia and to conscientiously comply with
all its decisions.
4. We undertake not to forget the extreme nervousness of the hungry and
exhausted Russian workers and peasants around our business and
to help them in every possible way to create friendly relations, to
overcome distrust and envy.
