Lieber Genosse Bela Kun!

Translation

27/Х.

Dear Comrade Bela Kun!

I'm returning the manuscript. The work is pathetic. I've had to make the note: "Nonsense" very often. Too short? Maybe, but I don't have time to correct nonsense. It's nonsense at every turn.

I must protest strongly against civilized Western Europeans imitating the methods of the half-barbarian Russians.

They want to convey to the public "the whole speech," but they convey nonsense, gibberish, confusion. I strongly disclaim any responsibility for this.

Let us retell the general content of the speech: it will be a European, not Asian work.

With communist greetings, Lenin.

1 About which speech V.I. Lenin is writing, it was not possible to establish.

In the RCCHIDNI there is a copy of Lenin's letter together with an envelope, on which Lenin wrote: "To the archive (copy of the letter to Bela Kun from 27.Kh. 1921) about the German speech ("Unsinn") and ("(Methode))* - ("Nonsense") and ((Method)) (RCCHIDNI, f. 2, op. 1, d. 21619, fol. 2).
