To Smolyyaninov

There is here Lapinsky, who has arrived from Berlin (find him through Radek), who has undertaken to carry out a certain assignment of mine concerning the compilation of an educational atlas, particularly for the study of contemporary imperialism. I ask you to speak with him, clarify how his work is progressing (completion deadlines, etc.), and coordinate this work with what is being done in the Petersburg commission under the chairmanship of Kaisarov, and compare it with the papers which are located in the secretariat.
