To juxtapose truly outstanding quotations from the letters with other works by Marx, as well as with “Capital” (for instance, on the question of “equality,” which is of paramount importance in…).

If we take issue x, then in the letters Marx addresses this issue thus and so, in his other works he discusses it differently, while in “Capital” he presents yet another perspective.

I could only glance at the letters. Of course, you will need to prune them considerably, to weave them together, to arrange their placement, to ponder them over two or three times—and then to offer concise commentary. It seems that the work ahead of you will be more extensive than it initially appeared.

In terms of organization (you may well be right), a chronological order is hardly less convenient.
