1 V. I. Lenin asked for a review of the possible entry into Soviet Russia of Beatty Bessie, an American writer who asked Lenin to assist in obtaining permission to come
to Russia.
Having arrived in Russia in 1917, Beatty witnessed the events
of the October Revolution. In 1918 and 1921 she met with Lenin.
Her book "The Red Heart of Russia" is written with sympathy for the revolutionary masses.
