with Rukhimovich, Yunov, Mezentsev? If so, what are they? Is the Gubekon Council functioning? What are its decisions on the issue of coordination with the union bodies, and what emergency measures does the Gubekon Council plan and take on the food issue, in particular, commodity exchange within your gubernia and foreign trade through Taganrog437.

TO V. R. MENZHINSKY

24. VI. 1921

Comrade Menzhinsky!

Gorky was at my place yesterday and said that you promised to help him with the case, it seems, of the Expert Commission438.

He asks for 2 cars.

Don't you have the power to give him such a trifle from the Petrograd Provincial Cheka?

If you can't, write to me immediately, I will ask Sklyansky.

Gorky must be helped, and quickly, because of this he is not going abroad. And he is coughing up blood!

So, either order it urgently, show authority, achieve execution (and not just a piece of paper).

If, unexpectedly, you cannot, answer me immediately and return this, I will turn to the military department

With comradely greetings

Lenin
