Comrade Litvinov!

The bearer of this letter — Peshkov, Gorky's son, a Communist.

When he travelled to Italy as a courier for the first time, we arranged with the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs that Peshkov would be left in Italy.434

He was brought back now and, it seems, correctly so, for otherwise there would be no news and documents from Vorovsky.

But he is going a second time, and they do not want to leave him there again.

Yet he needs rest, and it has long been promised to him. Could we not arrange things now so that he be left there? Please do your best, and ring me up.

With comradely greetings, Lenin
