NOTE TO V. M. MOLOTOV 1
[June 7, 1921] Comrade Molotov!
1)
I believe there is no need for this commission to consult with me—at least not yet (unless it deems such consultation absolutely urgent).

Let it chart its own course for now.
This is not final.
We will make our decisions here in Moscow, after their arrival from Berlin.
1 Written on the letter from G. V. Chicherin addressed to Lenin.
The letter concerned the commission engaged in negotiations with German industrialists over concessions.
On the left side of the note, Lenin made the annotation: “To Comrade Molotov.”
In the first paragraph of the note, he emphasized the words: “for the time being, the two commissions have not yet reached an agreement,” appended the numeral 1) to the paragraph, and indicated the addressee—Comrade Molotov—with an arrow (see this volume, p. 291).
